A Look at Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for Wii

Since its conception in 1998, the Tiger Woods series of games have come a very long way. More than ten games have been released in the series, and the PGA tour of the Tiger Woods series has been acclaimed by many fans as the best golf games ever made. The most recently made game is the PGA Tour 10, released first in June 2009 and now made available for the Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable, the Xbox, and the Nintendo Wii. EA has outdone themselves with this game, and no console reflects its exciting improvements and renovations quite like the Nintendo Wii.

Usually when a new game in a well-known series has been released, it’s only natural to compare the new game to its predecessors. The Tour 10 in the series of games endorsed by Tiger Woods features many improvements since its predecessor, Tour 09. The earlier game had shortcomings that left many of its fans disappointed with the series, the game controls bearing the brunt of criticism. The new game made for the Wii took care of this problem very well. The Wii console itself is available with many remote accessories designed to enhance the gamer’s experience.

The first of many major improvements the Tiger Woods game PGA Tour 10 displayed is the addition of the Wii MotionPlus. This accessory is specially made to connect to the Wii’s Remote Controller, and increases the precision of the gamer’s hand movements, making golf swings more accurate and increasing the gaming experience as a whole. This was a well-received change made from PGA Tour’s 09 Wii Nunchuk used as a controller, which many gamers found awkward and unfitting to use.

The PGA Tour 10 game for Wii has a difficulty range of three levels, suiting beginners and growing in difficulty to serve more experienced gamers. The game has over twenty-seven gold courses to enjoy, with seven additions made for extra re-playability. Players can now enjoy the US Open, a tournament that was not made available in PGA Tour 09. More tournaments were added for online gameplay, and the new Tour game featured real-time weather conditions updated from television’s Weather Channel. Many fans of the series found that this addition made the game more realistic and fun to play over the internet.

Many critics hold this game in very high regard. The Tour 10 of the Tiger Woods series has scored a nearly perfect 10 on all game reviews, with the only criticism being of a few occasional graphic flaws and there not being Dolby Digital 5.1 sound.

This game is available for the Wii and is currently priced at $49.99 at all game stores and professional retailers. If you are interested in buying this game, be sure to spend $19.99 to purchase a Wii MotionPlus, which will completely enhance the gaming experience for you. Certain special Wii bundles already include this Wii accessory.

If you are a fan of professional sports games, and are a fan of golf, you will no doubt want to buy this new edition to a very popular game series.
