Tips on Getting Non Prescription Colored Contacts

These days everyone is looking to change their appearance. For a few, this can include something as innocuous as eye color. Eye color can affect your confidence. It can help you look more striking or stand out from the crowd. And it can be used to set off your new wardrobe and highlights in your hair.

Any optician worth their salt will have a whole slew of contact colors to choose from. I’ve seen the catalogs. Some can be found online. I would try to match what would look best on you. For instance, if you look good in green, try green contacts. Use an old-fashioned color wheel. Pick colors opposite of what you look good in as these colors will be set off by your new eyes. Or go with what the rest of your family has. Sometimes you can even pick and choose.

Also you may have a choice of disposable or hard contacts. If you intend to keep them indefinitely, I would go with disposable as they feel better to me and seem to be the safer bet. Disposable also let you try one color and then try another if you don’t like the first one. One of my favorites was violet.

There are even some special contacts such as tiger eyes, blackout etc. that can be used for drama or even Halloween. These special contacts can startle some people so be aware of that and don’t get into any Halloween hi jinx. Lastly, keep it fun and try to be realistic about your choices. Otherwise, you are practically guaranteed to spend most of your day answering the age old question, “are those for real?”
