Britain’s Got Talent 2010 Episode 1
Without a doubt my favorite show on TV right now is Britain’s Got Talent. I watched the X Factor right up until Christmas but it feels like there’s been a huge hole in my TV viewing schedule for the past few months. Thankfully, the new series of Britain’s Got Talent started on Saturday and I wasn’t disappointed with the acts on show. The standout for me was Tina and Chandi, a dog act that had to be seen to be believed. The routine actually began with some ballet moves. I have no idea how you would train a dog to do that but that’s all part of the fun of watching such a wide range of talent like this.
Tobias Mead was another popular act with the crowd. I wasn’t all that keen on him to be honest but then I always think dance acts are more for the background, standing behind a singer. Tobias Mead did put a whole different spin on things though. He came out wearing a hooded sweater back to front which instantly indicated something different was coming up. Halfway through his dance routine, the music changed and he span around putting his hood up and showing off a Heath Ledger style joker mask. He then proceeded to dance ‘backwards’ if you like which was utterly amazing.
There was of course a few funny auditions, most notably Kevin Cruise. Kevin works on a cruise liner and his whole act is based around his life as an entertainer there. It covered singing, dancing and even a little rapping (about a toaster). He quickly won the crowd over thanks to his over the top personality but didn’t get much praise from judge Simon Cowell. Simon actually said that people like him are the reason that he’s never been on a cruise. Harsh words indeed! In short the first episode of Britains Got Talent 2010 was highly entertaining. I’d imagine there will be a few more amazing additions and of course a few funny Britains Got Talent auditions coming up in the next few weeks.
