Laser Liposuction of the Face

There is no shortage of plastic surgery procedures to rejuvenate a patient’s face and reverse the effects of aging. One particular procedure is facial liposuction which is made even more beneficial with the introduction of the laser technique. Laser liposuction makes facial procedures like cheek and chin lipo much more feasible since the area requires the precision and delicacy that laser lipo offers.

The most common types of facial treatment include the cheeks, chin, jowl and neck. Treating the cheeks with laser liposuction is often an alternative for some who also considered a lift procedure. The procedure is performed with a laser guided by fiber optic attached to the cannula which is the suction tube used to remove the fat from the body. As the laser passes through the treated area it literally melts the fat which is sucked up by the cannula. The detailed and delicate nature of the facial area affects the laser liposuction cost of the treatment because more attention and effort is exerted by the surgeon.

As people age it begins to show in the face. Some people develop a double chin early on as a facial feature while others are attributed to gaining excessive amounts of weight. Laser liposuction is a great way to reduce the appearance of a double chin and form a slimmer, younger looking face. The liposuction procedure is also commonly used to treat a sagging jowl under the chin. This often will tighten the area and reduce the appearance of aging and loose skin.

Another common procedure is laser liposuction of the neck to remove unsightly neck rolls. Usually excess skin and fatty tissue will accumulate in the neck as a result of weight gain and fat deposit to the area. Laser fat removal of the face and neck regions offer patients a relatively quick way to both remove the fat and recover from the cosmetic surgery procedure.
